Epiphany 7

The Bible’s command that we not judge others does not mean we cannot show discernment. In St John's gospel Jesus says: “Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly”. Jesus is giving us permission to tell right from wrong. Judgement should not be superficial, harsh, unforgiving, or self-righteous. In St Matthew's gospel Jesus says: “In the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you”.

Our Shabbat meal event next Friday is a sellout. 120 people from our Bayside Anglican Churches are attending in support of the right of Jewish people to live safely and peacefully in Australia. I look forward to seeing you at the Central Shule on Friday at 6pm.

 

Bible Study

This Sunday at 11.30pm we have bible study in the Parish Hall at 11.30am following refreshments after the 10am service. Our Lenten Studies commence on Sunday

 

The Duigan Centre

The Duigan centre will be dedicated on Thursday evening by Bishop Kate Prowd and officially opened by The Hon. Nick Duigan MLC. There is an Open Day on Saturday 1 March between 2-4pm when you can go on a tour of the new building. Register to visit by clicking the photo below.

 

Baptism and confirmation

We will be welcoming people into the church of God with baptism, confirmation, and reception into the Anglican Church on Easter Day when Bishop Paul Barker will be with us.

If you are interested, or know of someone who might be, please let Ian or Xeverie know.

Timothy was baptised into the church of God last Sunday.
