New Vicar Announcement

The Wardens are delighted to announce that the Archbishop has appointed

The Venerable Ian Morrison SCP as the next vicar of St Andrew’s Brighton. Fr Ian is presently the Archdeacon of Box Hill and has been the vicar of Holy Trinity Surrey Hills & Mont Albert for the past eight years. Prior to that he was an assistant priest at St Peter’s Eastern Hill after serving his curacy at St George’s Malvern.

He is currently a member of Archbishop-in-Council, the Diocesan property and building committees, and until recently was Chair of the Anglican Development Fund (ADF). He is also Chair of the Australian Church Union (ACU) and secretary of the Anglican Society of Catholic Priests (SCP) in Melbourne.

A life-long Anglican, Ian grew up in Sydney gaining qualifications and substantial experience in property law and management. He moved to Melbourne in 2005 to study for Holy Orders through Trinity College Theological School. He has several theological degrees and has also studied bioethics and dispute resolution.

He has a pug dog named ‘Duchess’, and enjoys watching tennis, cinema and the theatre.

Ian is looking forward to joining the team at St Andrew’s and will be inducted on Tuesday 22 October after taking his accrued annual and long service leave.
