Acknowledgement of Country

This church, dedicated to the worship of the living God, is on Boon Wurrung country. We acknowledge the first inhabitants of this place and recognise their elders with respect. We honour them for their custodianship of the land on which this church sits. We commit ourselves to working for justice and reconciliation.

Without derogation from that commitment, we acknowledge those subsequent British and European settlers who brought the Christian faith, the rule of law, the concepts of science, medicine, & national sovereignty, and our Parliamentary and legal systems, all of which has resulted in the modern, technological, and multicultural society in which we now live on that same land - ‘for we are one and free’.

We particularly acknowledge Henry Dendy and Jonathan Binns Were for the gift of this land to St Andrew’s, and we gratefully acknowledge all those parishioners since 1842, whose generosity and hard work have enabled us to enjoy the facilities on this land today.
